Q:Did lg start to make these knobs in metal, or with metal inserts
by|Jan 25, 2014

Answer This Question
A: It seems that most of the knob complaints also mention that they are melted or bubbling. This is likely because they left the door cracked open when broiling, a common practice for electric ranges. This indicates that they did not read the instructions, because LG specifically says that for their gas ranges the door MUST be closed when broiling. This shows the likely cause was "operator error".

A: The spec sheets list the material of the knobs: Stainless Steel

A: The knobs are made of plastic with a 'chrome' plating, they do soften at the stem (and no the door was never left open while broiling!) which causes the knob to spin loosely around the gas valve stem, and they cost around $40 apiece from LG!

Q:This is for the LRG3091. There was a light spill and splatter when I cooked my ham. The spill was on the bottom, on the sides and some into the vents on the bottom. I wiped up what I could (but obviously I could not wipe what went into the vents) Then I put the oven on self clean. After the self clean, and after I wiped the oven down, there are still some spots visible on the bottom and sides and the the spill into the vents did not clean.
I had my other stove for 20 years and never had any spots. I do not want my new stove to have spots after only one cooking. I was so excited, I waited 3 months for this stove because of the quality rating, but obviously something is wrong.

Answer This Question
A: We regret the trouble you have experienced with this range oven. You may notice some white ash in the oven after the Self Clean cycle. Wipe it up with a damp cloth after the oven cools. If white spots remain, remove them with a soap-filled scouring pad and rinse thoroughly with a vinegar and water mixture. These deposits are usually a salt residue that cannot be removed by the clean cycle. The use of steel wool can damage the surface. There are no options for opening the lower portion of the oven to get to the inside of the vents.

Q:DOES THIS STOVE WORK WITHOUT ELECTRICTY?
by|Oct 28, 2013
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: IN CASE OF POWER FAILURE
In case of a power failure, you can light the gas surface burners on your range with a match. Hold a lit match to the burner, then push in and turn the control knob to the “LITE” position. Use extreme caution when lighting burners this way. Surface burners in use when an electrical power failure occurs will continue to operate normally.
