    A:  Should you experience any problems with your refrigerator, it has the capability of transmitting data via your telephone to the LG service center. This gives you the capability of speaking directly to our trained specialists. The specialist records the data transmitted from your machine and uses it to analyze the issue, providing a fast and effective diagnosis. If you experience problems with your refrigerator, call 1-800-243-0000. Only use the Smart Diagnosis feature when instructed to do so by the LG call center agent. The transmission sounds that you will hear are normal and sound similar to a fax machine. Smart Diagnosis cannot be activated unless your refrigerator is connected to power. If your refrigerator is unable to turn on, then troubleshooting must be done without using Smart Diagnosis. ^CP

      A:  It is used for diagnostics only. It sends a tone to the phone so the repair center can diagnose problems with the refrigerator. I hope this helps!

      Q:I have model LFX28968SB (new in 2014).I want to change the air filter, but my unit does NOT look like the ones I see on the tutorials.  NO squarish plate on the wall of the upper shelf that looks like the videos. What am I missing??? where to look?

French Door Refrigerator in Stainless Steel, Model # LFX28968ST can be cleaned frequently without damage, but you have to be careful about scratching the metal. Stainless steel can be wiped down with plain water, or as some people use, a vinegar-and-water blend or special cleansers that help keep the metal's luster. Fine scratches can be removed using various non-abrasive cleaners that you will find at the Home Depot that will gently buff the stainless steel. ^CP
