Q:Is there a light on the switch that comes on when the power is on? We have one that does that so you can EASILY see it from across the room, or behind an appliance, or behind a piece of equipment. We know if there's no light on, the power is off. thx

Q:is it advisable to use this for "12/3 heavy duty 15-Amp contractor extension cord with lighted ends, 50 feet" ? i thought of getting one to facilitate use of this extension instead of pulling plug from main power every so often. for info, i used said 50 feet extension for power tools like table saw. thanks

A:  I THINK THE LOAD YOU'D BE PLACING ON THIS SIMPLE SWITCH WOULD BE TO MUCH.

A:  Hi , Thank you for choosing Leviton. No we do not recommend switching a device such as a table saw due to the high current draw, it may create huge arcs that can be a danger.

A:  This 15-amp switch is a good safety idea to keep that 50-foot lighted pluged-in power cord de-energized when not in use.

A:  It's rated at 15 amps so it should work.

A:  As long as the 'white' outlet is rated at 15-amps, color will not make any difference handling the load.

A:  No, it did not block the second outlet in my garage that was below the top outlet that this switch was plugged into. Its compact size was a big selling point with me.

                        by|Feb 5, 2019

A:  It will not block any the 2nd outlet as long as you mount it into the outlet on right side. You'll still have 3-outlets accessible for plug-ins on a double outlet.
