A:  No. These bulbs are white. You can get colored sets, but there is no way to change out the bulbs.

A:  I connect about 6 together and even some basic LED icicle lights with no issues. Inspect your line for a short like an exposed wire or something like that. I would also suggest some trial and error like testing them one at a time to locate the bad line. Gemmy has a good warranty and you can send them in for replacement.
