A: It is likely that your battery is not charging. On the initial install, it is necessary to hook up the battery. Make sure it is connected to the power source. Assuming you have good current going to the fixture, your battery will charge and the light will power on when you press the button.
If this doesn't fix the problem, you may have a bad battery, in which case i would recommend returning if new or replacing the battery.

A: Yes there are battery “back up” powered exit signs. Typically line voltage 120/240/277 with a battery for power to illuminate the sign should the power go out.

A: You didn'ta provide exactly what EXIT you are talking about but when you look at the box make sure it has EL N (means nicad battery) in the description. And yes if it has a battery it has a test switch.
Home Depot does sell a version that does not have a battery or test switch.

A: Not sure if the lights would stay on for 24 hours, but being LEDs they may, but my experience with these lights is that you need to replace the battery or batteries about every 4 years.

A: You can probably rig it to mount on the ceiling, but they have a model that comes with a bracket specifically for ceiling mounts.

Q:What is the replacement battery part number for the LQM LED exit sign and do you carry them in the store?

Answer This Question
A: My experience is that although Depot carries some batteries, the one for this particular sign they do not, BUT, it is very easy to take out and take to a Battery store to have rebuilt or replaced. You do not have to take the unit down, it is behind the removable front cover plate.

A: You will need to locate the product date code off the white label from the inside of the unit. There are 3 different batteries depending on the product date code. If you take this code to the Pro Desk of your local Home Depot store they will be able to assist in the exact replacement battery needed. Thanks for your question!
