Q:How do I reduce/remove the static from my radio when these lights are on? I have 2 installed in my 28x36 garage they are mounted 15 feet in the air off the ceiling. I have no issue with reception when the lights are off, however when they are on it disturbs my radio in the garage, plugged into the wall as well as a vehicle radio such as inside a car. I believe it's the radio frequency disturbing the fm signal of the radios. Fixtures are properly grounded.

A:  Hello, You could try a radio interference filter to help your situation. The only other option will be to find a residential grade ballast.

A:  I put 3 rows of 3 in a 30' x 40' (12' ceiling) in a welding shop and the only shadows are under the tables. It is very bright and well lit, almost an over kill. Also, they say to hand them and mount directly to the joists. The chain hanger is sold separately.

      Answer This Question

A:  Depending on the height of your carport the quantity recommended can vary. For a 25x26 carport with a 10-15ft ceiling, we would recommend 2 fixtures. For 25x26 carport with a 20-25ft ceiling, we would recommend 3 fixtures.

A:  Since this model is apparently not available without the holes in the reflectors, it would not be suitable for that use. You would need to choose a different model which is available without the holes in the reflectors and is therefore, suitable for mounting directly on the ceiling. If you want to illuminate the garage, the plastic wrap arounds are probably the best choice.

A:  This is a high bay fixture so unless the carport is very tall, this wouldn't be a good fixture for this application.

A:  You will need 18 fixtures for your application in a 3x6 arrangement. You can use chain hangers to adjust the height and location as needed.

        by|May 3, 2023

A:  please see my review of a 40x60x10 pole barn. The lamps hang from a chain. The chain could be nailed or screwed to the purlin. They state to hang with an air gap. I bought some light chain and nuts and bolts to attach the chain to the lamp, then attached the chain to the ceiling using a screw in hook. I put on a 6x6' matrix 10' above the floor for a near daylight brightness at 4'. At 20' you would get much less light. Depends on the amount of lumination you desire. At 20' you might consider the T5 lamps. I would recommend lowering the lamps if possible.

              Answer This Question

A:  Get some 14 -2 cable and a ground plug from Home depot, on the plug side strip just enough of the black jacket so the plug clamps it when you finish the wiring, the white wire attaches to the silver screw, black to the bronze screw and green to ground. The same will be the way you wire the fixture side, white to white, black to black and green to green.

              by|May 4, 2023

A:  The red wire is for additional switching if you want to dim the fixture. If no dimming is needed, you can tie into the black.
