Q:What is the thread size/pitch on the output of the mixing valve? I would like to use this handle set with a different shower head.

A:  The fitting is 90 degrees to the body, or exactly vertical. It is about 1/2" in length and uses a 1/2 IPS General thread. This is a standard threading and will fit almost all hoses \ hand showers.
