Moen has not tested/evaluated other ways of installing/using this product; therefore, we cannot confirm/recommend this product can be used in this manner. A:  This air switch is designed to be used with a garbage disposal that has a standard power cord rather than one that is hardwired into an electrical box. If you currently have an electrical outlet that has a switch then yes, you would simply leave the switch in the on position at all times and use the air switch to cycle the power on and off to the unit.

A:  Unplug the cord that comes out of the disposal from the air switch unit that is plugged into the outlet. Then plug the disposal into an unswitched outlet. If the disposal runs, your air switch is at fault. If you are using a battery powered air switch, try new batteries. 

A:  Unplug the disposer power line from the controller unit and plug it into the outlet directly. I would also check the breaker button on the bottom of your disposer unit to make sure it is not poped.
