A: Yes, you'll likely just need to change the screws out to something shorter so you don't end up with them sticking out inside your vanity.

Q:The pivot arm swings down every time when we are trying to get toilet paper to use which is very frustrating and annoying. Sometimes the roll even falls down. Any way to fix this issue? Thanks

A: Ours is installed correctly & has this issue. The screw in the pivot arm was stripped & broke in half after about 6 months use. Super frustrating when arm would fall down off sending the roll flying to the floor. Then it broke. Annoying for sure

A: Hello Sonia and thank you for your interest in Moen products. The arm of the Moen Genta Pivoting Toilet Paper Holder in Chrome should lift upwards when loading and removing a roll. The locking tab on the bracket should be at the bottom of the bracket to ensure the arm doesn’t disengage with pressure. We recommend removing the paper holder and re-installing. Our specially trained Product Consultants are available via our Helpline for technical assistance. Please feel free to call us at 800-289-6636; our current business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 7:00 pm (Eastern Time).

A: If both allen screws are visible from the top, then they were installed incorrectly. Loosen allen screws on both supports and remove. Check to see if the wall mounts were installed correctly ( UP should be on top ). Reinstall wall mounts if necessary (swing arm mount should be installed on the left. Install the swim arm on the left mount it will flip up. Install the other post on the right wall mount.

A: It must be upside down it should swing up when replacing TPaper.

A: It could be a manufacturer issue. I have this item in 3 bathroom and i dont have this problem. The only problem i see is with the allen screw( the small screw that holds the arm on the wall bracket), eapecially if the walls are not perfectly straight .

A: The pivot arm should swing up to change paper. I believe you installed it upside down.
by|Jan 25, 2020
A: We have the same problem. And ours is not installed upside-down. The pivoting arm is free to swing both up and down, and it has a tiny bit of lateral free play, enough to pull the arm off the notch of the receiving fixture, sending the roll to the floor.

Q:Can this product be mounted vertically

Answer This Question
A: I can’t imagine why not, as long as you make note of the direction of pull and make sure it pulls the pivot “closed” each time you use it. Other wise your roll may keep falling off...
Have not done it myself though...

A: No, I would advise against it.
the top just sits on a lever, so gravity helps it stay closed. I would imagine that it would be fall open every time it was used
