Moen does not test/evaluate the sound level of a running garbage disposal. The noise level of the installed disposal will be influenced by installation conditions. Because of this, perceived noise levels will vary. If noise levels are a concern for you, we would suggest shopping for a Moen Disposal that uses Moen’s SoundShield-sound deadening insulation. The Moen GXP33C-KIT01 Lite Series 1/3 HP Continuous Feed Garbage Disposal including Stainless Drain Stopper does not have Moen’s SoundShield insulation. With the unit off, insert a wooden spoon into the disposal and rotate the turntable in either direction a full revolution to dislodge any object.
