A:  Hello Lake and thank you for your interest in Moen products. The Moen Posi-Temp Escutcheon Plate is designed for the PosiTemp valve, the screws are at the 2 and 7 o’clock position. The older style valve had screws located at the 5 and 7 o’clock position and the escutcheon plate for the standard valve is 16090. Please confirm your current valve is a Moen product. A:  Sorry the question lacks clarity. First question is do the mounting holes line up? You should be able to check but if the valve stem will not go through the center than I am guessing you have misidentified the valve.

A:  Hello DTs and thank you for your interest and support of Moen products. The Moen Posi-Temp Escutcheon Plate is used with a Posi-Temp valve. A Posi-Temp valve has a handle that will rotate only and does not pull out. The screws on the escutcheon plate are at 2 o’clock and 7 o’clock. If your current trim kit has 2 screws at 5 o’clock & 7 o’clock, you may have a standard valve. Our Standard valves are non-pressure balanced and have a handle that pulls out to turn on the water. With use of the Moen Standard Valve Adapter, part number 145058, you can adapt the valve to accept Moentrol Trim with a round plate. If your screws are at 2 o’clock & 7 o’clock and you have a push/pull handle, you can use any current Moentrol trim on your existing valve. You will need to verify your valve is a Moen valve to determine which escutcheon plate will work. If you have additional questions, please feel free to call us at 800-289-6636.
