Answer This Question

A:  Again I would check with the magic heat website to know for sure.

A:  I would check the magic heat website first. There is a reason they make the heat reclaimer for a certain size. And I think it won't be as efficient if you reduce the size of the stove pipe.

A:  The Magic Heat must not change the size of the flue pipe that is required for the heating device. If your furnace requires a 8" flue then you must use the 8" Magic Heat. The same applies to the 6". If the heating device requires a 6" flue then you must use a 6" Magic Heat. If you have additional questions please feel free to call Customer Service at 1-800-325-7076. A:  No they don't recommend it. Check their website.

A:  We prohibit horizontal installations for the Magic Heat on wood, coal or oil stoves due to creosote and soot build up. When mounted in a horizontal position and the soot scraper is used, there is no place for the loose material to drop out, so it stays in the Magic Heat and builds up to a point of plugging the unit. When this happens it could cause a serious fire in the Magic Heat, flue pipe, chimney or smoke up the house.

A:  Check the magic heat website to know for sure. But they don't recommend it to be installed horizontally. You can burn it up that way.

                Answer This Question

A:  Yes. Wood, coal, gas and oil. When ordering the unit, order for a specific application that suits you.

A:  I would not have a wood burning stove without one. It doubles the heat and cuts the wood you burn by 1/3 - 1/2. It keeps the house temperature more even.

                      A:  The top is crimped

                      by|Jan 9, 2019

A:  If you will purchase a crimping tool you can crimp both ends of the heat recovery unit and then your heat recovery unit will slide into the existing glue pipe. Secure with 1/4” hex head sheet metal screws.
