A: Hello Frustrated, a trimming allowance of 1/8" all around the door is permitted, any more will immediately void the warranty and may disrupt the integrity of the door.

Q:Can these doors be cut down by a few inches on the top and sides?

Answer This Question
A: Nope, not a "few inches" for sure as it is a hollow core door. You'll have to order a custom sized door instead or get a solid core door and cut it down and install the hardware separately (just the hinges are pre-installed anyway). Note, not all "solid core" doors can be cut down much either as many are made like hollow core doors with a filler added so that type can't be cut down much either. Order custom sized doors instead --- measure twice before ordering and note the finished opening is the nominal door size, NOT the actual door size as you need to leave space for the door hardware on top, bottom and spacing on the sides. Good luck.

A: Hello Rebecca, The sides can be trimmed 1/8" and the bottom can be trimmed 1/4" but there is no trim allowance on the top. Anything beyond this will void warranty and may compromise the integrity of the door.
