    Q:What maximum diameter bowl will this make ??? Is the chuck that comes with it the one used for pens ???

    A:  8" is the max diameter. The chuck that comes with this unit is used for drilling on centerline. You need a rotating chuck for pens.

      Q:Is the speed continuously variable or do you have to move the belt from pulley to pulley?

      A:  Hello. The speed is continuously variable from 750 – 3200 rpm. This is controlled electronically by adjusting a speed dial and does not involve re-positioning the drive belt.
