The 9 in. 3 TPI Pruning Carbide Teeth Wood Cutting SAWZALL Reciprocating Saw Blades (3-Pack would be a better choice. The blades are courser and are more effective when used on wood material.

Q:Wondering if anybody has used this to cut through a railroad tie? Seems the 12 inch version might handle this.

A: depends on if it is treated or not. i tried to cut a railroad tie, but the ones in use on the rail lines are treated with creosote and it just made friction burns on the blade and the wood. ruined my blade
