A: It will leave too much of lip for electrical. Stick to the sawsall. Milwaukee makes a great little M12 version that I use for conduit

A: I would say no since the threads would cause the cutter to walk while it cuts in a circular motion. Copper is also a lot softer than threaded rod. Milwaukee’s threaded rod cutter is a great tool. I recommend getting that instead for cutting threaded rod.

A: This is easiest and least physically demanding way I’ve found to cut copper tubing that is still round and not beat up. If it it’s soft or bent up a cable cutter works the best.

Q:can this be used on soft copper tubing?

Answer This Question
A: This works fantastic on standard copper pipe (like 3 seconds) and if doing a lot of it, definitely worth it. Never tried copper tubing, but have noticed the cutting wheels do not have the depth for the thicker walls of CPVC or PEX. If tubing wall thickness is similar to standard copper pipe it should work fine (try it and if it doesn't return it). Tried it on thin wall EMT conduit, but the wheels barely put a scratch mark on it, a bad oversight on Milwaukee's part because I could see Electrician's loving it.

A: dont know that answer because i have never used this milwaukee cutter on that situation. I only would use a midget cutter for cutting a line with water in it. i do use this tubing cutter a lot for new construction it will cut 1/2" through 1" copper pipe and really works well
. You can mark the pipe and see the mark clearly through the body of the cutter.

A: It comes assembled. You plug in the battery and it is ready to use.
Do not get it wet or it will quit working. Sometimes letting it dry for two days will get it back to operating.
