Questions and Answers for Milwaukee M12 12V Lithium-Ion Cordless Copper Tubing Cutter (Tool-Only)

A:  Technically, Electricians can't use a tubing cutter that leaves a burr. the one cutter electricians have doesn't cut all the way through, but scores the emt. Save your money on this tool. I have 3 of them. Between all 3 that no longer cut, Iv'e done less than 500 cuts total and none of them cut copper tubing. Just spin and spin. Junk.

A:  No this is for soft copper, just use a 4 1/2" grinder the cuts don't have to be perfect and save money.

A:  No, this is not recommended being used on electrical CONDUIT EMT.

A:  Quick answer is no for several reasons. I can't even cut copper with the 3 that I have. Electricians are not allowed to use a tubing cutter that will leave a burr inside the emt.. There is a tubing cutter that scores the emt and then you snap it off. Save your money as this is junk.

A:  This cutter has a 5 year limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship.

A:  Yes Milwaukee has a 5 year warranty on tool battery has less maybe 2 years

A:  If your talking about EMT, as in electrical metal tubing or conduit the answer is a definite No. the jaws won’t get stay tight enough to cut steel. This thing works great on copper though.

A:  I’m not sure what met is. Emt? Like electrical conduit?

A:  Don't know what MET is but, if you mean EMT then, no this tool is not meant for anything but copper tubing.

A:  It can but I believe met is ips size so in that case you could only do up to 3/4 and you will be changing the teeth more often

A:  It would cut it but for how long More wear & tear on the cutter I use the hand tubing tube cutter a lot but it wears out the cutter fast.

A:  No. It absolutely will not. I didn't believe them, so tried it for myself. All it does is dull the blade. It didn't even make a scratch in the conduit.

A:  The tool works great, has great power and battery life. I would be more concern about how long the blade would hold up against a stronger metal like emt, being since copper is a soft metal. My opinion the tool would work great, the blade probably wouldn’t but you could always just replace the blades as you go or just install a conduit scoring blade. (I use the Klein 88906 comes with an extra blade)

A:  hi sorry but it won't cut EMT pipe , it's only made for copper piping and it works great doing that

A:  It's probably not covered under the 5 year warranty. They are all defective. I have 3 that are all broken with less than 500 cuts between all 3 of them. Rick

A:  It’s meant mainly to cut m type copper even when I cut type l it takes a little longer.. thicker pipe like k is going to be ever harder...

A:  It might be the blade needs to be changed.

A:  that is due to the blade rotational speed and jaw clamp pressure.

A:  I have not tried to use it on flexible gas lines, but don't think it would be an issue. The rotating head should cut through both layers.

A:  It won’t work it’s made for copper or metal will take longer to cut the metal out but it’s actually for copper You can try it but is not guarantee
