Questions and Answers for Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18V Lithium-Ion Cordless Brushless Oscillating Multi-Tool Kit with one 5.0 Ah Battery, Charger and Tool Bag
Q:Just bought the newest milwaukee multi tool and the part that the battery slides into is loose is this normal?

Answer This Question
A: No. The fit should be snug, even tight, Make sure you are using an OEM Milwaukee battery, and that the surround / housing around the battery is not cracked. Milwaukee's fit and finish is in decline (I no longer buy their tools), so it could just be shoddy manufacturing.

Q:Anyone else see pictures and video don't show the battery installed? Understand they don't want to imply the battery included but looks like the battery will get in the way if cutting from a horizontal surface to an edge. Thoughts?

A: The M18 Fuel multi tool is very well engineered. The battery does drop slightly below the body but I have not found that it interferes. In the event to interference does occur, you can easily and quickly rotate the blade to avoid the interference.

A: Not sure, but it did stop working in less than 2 months. Seems like it’s the switch. I bought this to replace a non-FUEL with the same problem. Finally bought a 3rd unit (not FUEL) and having been using it for a year. The first two I bought as part of a deal so I couldn’t return unless I returned the other items.

Q:Does my M18 fuel oscillating tool have to run on a 5.0 battery

Answer This Question
A: It will run on any size Milwaukee m18 battery
by|Jul 23, 2022
A: Nearly all brands of oscillating tools (and the Milwaukee cut off tool) run at very high RPMs, 18,000+ and that causes them to burn through any battery used. I use the CP 3.0 High Output batteries since they make the oscillating tool more balanced.
by|Feb 3, 2023
A: No. It will actually run on any m18 battery. The 5.0 however will give you a longer run time for bigger projects.

A: If you are referring to the battery connection on the tool yes the 4 prong assembly has wiggle room. All my 24 milwaukee tools have some wiggle room on the tools battery connection. The tools that vibrate like my oscillating tool, super sawzall, oribital sander etc have more movement. I believe that is to reduce stress on the internal connections behind the plug. Should be completely normal. The connections on the battery should be tight and not be loose

A: I had the regular M18 OMT before this one and I can say this one is 100% worth every penny extra. I even compared it with my buddy's Fein OMT and the FUEL one had more power, less felt vibration, and illuminates WAY better. I have zero regrets buying it
