Q:Will this work on 16 gauge 304 SS? I'm looking to drill faucet holes in a sink

Answer This Question
A: Yes, although depending on the thickness of the metal, it might give you a hard time to remove from the hole saw. The gears I've drilled in have been around 13 gauge.

A: Yes, since you are only doing A sink and the walls are only 0.0625 thick. But 304 is going to wear out those teeth fast- they are only HSS. If you are looking to routinely cut holes in 304 (say you are a fabricator or you routinely modify SS sinks), I'd get either one carbide-toothed, high TPI hole saw designed for metal, or a bunch of cheap bimetal hole saws with high TPI (most likely the latter will be better for your cost unless you are doing full production).

A: Yes I have used the Milwaukee Hole Saw Kit several times in light gauge metal. (Not Stainless) and it works great.

A: Yes. I use these on all my metal J-boxes for 1/2", 3/4" & 1" conduit fittings. They work great in my impact.
by|Apr 9, 2020
A: If you're referring to thin gauge metals, then yes, as long as it doesn't exceed 1/8 in. thickness.

A: You’d have to email Milwaukee for that info. That wasn’t listed on the package when I bought them. I wouldn’t call them “chincy”, I’ve had my set a few years now. Works awesome on thinner metal and plastic. And it’s the perfect size for knockouts/bushings for electrical work if that helps at all

A: Yes you need to cut the hole with a variable speed drill, use the slowest speed the drill will let you. This will give you a clean cut with less kick back.

Answer This Question
A: Yes you can buy the replacement drill bits from Home Depot in the bit section. Don't pay to much attention to the spring as the cut metal will be in there at an angel and you will have to get a screw driver to remove it.

A: The pilot bits are not available for these hole saws.
by|Feb 29, 2020
A: These do not need pilot bits. If you break pilot bit then you will need to buy a new hole saw, but these are well made and should last you a while.
