A: You can purchase additional brackets at Home Depot that work with this and definitely need them if you put heavy stuff on the shelf.

Q:For one shelf, if you use the brackets on 16" centered studs with the 8 in overhang, will it still hold 150-200 lbs?

Answer This Question
A: It is possible, but I have found they are not wide enough to support that kind of weight.

Q:Are purchasing the brackets individually still not an option? We want to add one more bracket to each shelf to give more center support if possible.

Answer This Question
A: Not sure about the center bracket being an option. After mine were hung we had to add a center bracket that we bought at home depot for added support. They are sturdy with that extra bracket but a problem without it. Hope this helps.

Q:can these be cut down, if so, what do you recommend to cut them down with?
Thanks

Answer This Question
A: I believe they could be cut but do not know the name of the tool (cutter) that would actually work.Check with Home Depot with someone who might be able to give you a more definitive answer. One thing to keep in mind...make sure they are being put on where there are studs or into concrete. If not and you put weight on them they pull away from the wall.

Answer This Question
A: Yes it can be cut down lengthwise with a hacksaw. I also made cuts so it would fit around electric conduit on the wall. Like these so much I put in 6 in the garage. You find space you didn’t even know you had!

A: Absolutely! Hacksaw or reciprocating saw with a metal cutting blade does the trick. And I assume you mean shortening the length.
