A:  Rest assured that this will not occur. The solar panel maintainer is designed with a built-in diode which prevents the battery from draining. This panel is equipped with an LED diode (indicated by a blue light) that allows the current to flow in one direction only - from the panel to the battery. If the current attempts to flow back to the panel during the night, it will be blocked by this diode. A:  This is an Amorphous type of solar panel, it will charge in any light condition, even your house lights. However, this solar panel is only a battery maintainer, it is only a 1.5W. It maintains a fully charged battery, used for the sole purpose of maintaining a fully charged battery in storage. It will not provide any significant charge enough to charge any battery. The number of amps lost by the battery on a daily basis, will be equal or less than what this panel can provide. if the battery discharge is more than what this panel gives you, then your battery will eventually go down. So, it only prolongs the life of a full battery. it really not designed to give you charge into battery but rather, maintaining a fully charged battery. A:  In order to use the 12V plug inside the car to connect to battery, this plug should be hot wired to the battery. meaning, the DC-cigarette lighter plug stays working even while the car is off, otherwise, the only way to connect, is directly to your battery. The blue light should stay on anytime enough light hits the panel, and sometimes becomes brighter when connected to a battery. If the blue LED light goes off when you connect to a battery, this means that you have a short circuit issue in the wire to the battery or your battery is depleted. A:  This panel will not give you any sizable charge in your battery. It will maintain a battery that is fully charged already, if the battery discharge is more than what this panel gives you, then your battery will eventually go down. it only prolongs the life of a full battery. it really not designed to give you charge into battery other than maintaining a full battery. depending on how long you plan to operate the light, you probably will need at least a 15W with a charge controller. A:  I can tell you that I have this on my camper and it’s in the rain, snow, sleet and I have never had any issues with it. Hope this helps!

A:  Not recommended for your planned usage. It is not waterproof and the quality is marginal for your planned usage. It is better to use as a battery charge topper during storage of your equipment.

A:  I would say no, I use mine on a power boat and the part that go's bad first is the connectors, they corrode from the salt air. The panel works great.
