A: They feel like hard styrofoam. They will hold up to weather but not any type of abuse. I've had them installed for over two years and still look good. One thing to mention... they are thinner than I would have liked. A good value for a nice look.

A: No these do not feel like paper at all. They are solid composite polyurethane and the molds are made from real stone so they are extremely textured.

Q:i want to use them as interior decor. Are they stack-able without interior post to get an 8ft column?, they would be flushed against a wall.

A: While it is conceivable, it seems that you will want a post on the interior in order to hold it sturdy. The post cover is hollow inside and it would easily move without something holding it in place.

A: I wouldn’t stack or install without post . It’s made out of a hard foam . Perfect for a deck or a mailbox . I wouldn’t stack either not sure if it would be seamless .

A: These post covers are open at the top and bottom. The Slatestone Post Cover caps are what is used the cap off the opening at the top. They have to be cut diagonally, then the opening for the wood post needs to be jigged out. There is a video on the manufacturers website showing how to do this.
