        Q:The fireplace in my apartment was originally for wood which was then converted to a gas fireplace which is not in use. I now wish to update and install an electric fireplace, will the flue have to be closed off - and how can this be done? as I live in a condo with two seperate floors above and the flue connects through these apartments.

        A:  Closing off the flue should not effect anybody else. But note, this is a wall mounted unit and due to projection of the "flames" will not look good unless you have it at least two feet off the floor. Note picture, the is probably 48 inches off the floor. Other than that, it is "plug and play"

            A:  It does not have temperature control. It does have two heat settings - 750W and 1500W.

                A:  It is recommended to keep furniture, curtains and other flammable material at least 1 meter away from the appliance.

                  A:  HI Jethro, The manufacturer does not recommend mounting this fireplace over a bed, it gets too hot to be located in such a location and could pose a safety hazard. Mike
