    A:  Yes

A:  It may work, but it is questionable...I would stick to the FRP manufacturer's recommended adhesive that is combed out with a notched trowel. But hey, try it on the back of the panel and see if you can peel or chip it off easily...if it works share with us

A:  Thank you for the question. The short answer is no, OSI F38 Drywall and Panel Adhesive is not suitable for use with FRP panels. You need to use an actual FRP designated adhesive and what is important to know is that wallpaper must be completely removed before installing FRP panels.

          Q:will this adhere to plaster?

          Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. OSI F38 Drywall and Panel Adhesive can adhere to plaster but keep in mind this adhesive is a latex, water-based product and the success of the bonding will depend upon the condition of the plaster (structural integrity) including how it was originally finished. Typically this adhesive is used for fastening drywall to wood studs or ceiling joists. Without knowing the specific details of your application, we're unable to determine if your project will be successful or not. Please call our technical help line to share more information and we will help you out.

A:  Thank you for the question. Yes, using drywall adhesives such as OSI F38 Drywall and Panel Adhesive to attach gypsum board to wood studs does help reduce sound transmission in wall systems. It is not, however, a guarantee that sound transmission is completely eliminated.

Q:Will this work out in my pole barn in New York, I'm only heating well I am out there so temperatures may get below freezing if it is super cold out but the majority of time it should be above 40 degrees. The walls are 3/4" plywood and I want to glue drywall to the plywood but don't want the adhesive to fail in the cold. If this will not work what model adhesive should I be using?

                  Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for the question. The OSI F38 28 fl. oz. VOC Drywall and Panel Adhesive is a latex, water-based product. The temperature of the product, the surfaces and the working area must be above 40°F (4°C) during application and curing of the adhesive. Keeping in mind that lower temperatures will increase the curing time. Ideal condition are when areas can be temperature maintained at least at 55°F or higher. Cure times are based on 70°F and 50% relative humidity and are dependent upon temperature, humidity, porosity of substrate and amount of adhesive applied. If you are unable to maintain temperature above 40°F then you should consider an alternative adhesive tat is not water-based such as the OSI F38 Heavy Duty Drywall Adhesive.

A:  Thank you for the question. Adhesive coverage is based on lineal footage and the size of the bead used. A 4X8 sheet of drywall typically takes about 22-24 lineal feet of adhesive bead minimum based on stud spacing of 16 O.C and bead size of 3/8 inch. One tube yields about 38 lineal feet at 3/8-inch bead size. A ¼-inch bead size will yield about 86 lineal feet per tube.
