A:  yes it is a nomal thread. You need caulking, glue, liners etc but the male threaded attachment is included.

A:  You would need to have the appropriate base for your application. #422464 (pvc base), #422494 (ABS base) or No Hub. please reach out to Oatey Technical for further details.

A:  Yes ... you need a drain base and it looks like you have it ... so you should be good to go

A:  Firstly, it appears that you are "placing a square peg into a round hole." So, if you're modifying the tile penetration, ensure the shower pan is not punctured... If you're overlaying the existing tile work, you may find that the drain hub needs lengthening. I think you must determine these final elevations before deciding on how to adequately seal the hub through the flange.
