Q:Is there a 2 1/2" gripper by Oatey? Will 2" one fit?

A:  I regret to inform you Oatey does not have a 2.5 gripper, and the 2 inch ranges from 1.9 in. - 2.17 in.

    A:  I checked several websites and it doesn't appear these 2.5" Oatey grippers are available. I would not opt for the 2" and try to make it fit. Rather, there are 2.5" grippers made by other manufacturers that I would take a chance on that they would fit your application. That would be my recommendation.

      Q:Can this be used to plug a toilet drain for an extended period of time? We are looking to gut our powder room and reno but right now i just want to get everything out so I can do flooring and paint, it may be a couple months until a new toilet goes in.

      A:  Yes it should work on a toilet drain, I am using it to replace a cap for the clean out drain for my bathtub.
