A:  The Pk 360 has side shelves, stand and better vent system. It also comes standard with Stainless steel charcoal grates and cooking grates. It also comes with a thermometer. It is also a larger grill at 360 inches. Considering it will last life times of use, its well worth the added cost in my mind. I've owned both and much happier with the 360.

A:  Thank you for the question. The PK360 is the flagship PK Grill. The capsule is larger and contains many enhancements over the Original PK Grill which was designed and first cast in the early 1950s. You can't go wrong with either PK Grill model, but here are a few reasons why the PK360 is more expensive and functionally superior to the Original PK Grill. - The patented cast aluminum capsule is the most expensive (and most important) part of the PK360. It is not only larger than the Original PK, it is engineered differently, requiring more material and so represents more cost to produce. - The PK360 ships with a high-quality Tru-tel thermometer. The Original PK does not ship with a thermometer. - The PK360 contains a marine grade stainless cooking surface and charcoal grate. The Original PK offers marine grade stainless as an upgrade. - The PK360 ships with two large removable side shelves. The Original PK has a single, smaller side shelf. - The PK360 has a completely different, more complex and precise, lower venting system. - The PK360 has an internal ash control system with additional parts that the Original PK does not have. While both grills share the trademark cast aluminum PK capsule design, the PK360 components list is quite different from the Original PK Grill & Smoker. We hope this answers your question.

Q:How does it compare to a kamado grill ?

A:  I own both. Different styles of cooking. the kamados are great cookers, but I use the 360 more often then not. Just as easy to get it to hold temps. The only down side to the 360 is the amount of fuel it can hold. Also, harder to do large cuts of meat indirect on the 360. Never having to worry about the ceramics cracking sure is nice bonus.

A:  I have shopped kamados and a few of them can cook all night low and slow without additional fuel. For brisket or pork shoulder, which can take 12 hours, the PK360 needs more fuel every 4 hours, based on what I've read. A good Kamado, like Kamado Joe Big Joe is about $1,700. PK360 is about $800. Then there is the Blaze 20 solid aluminum Kamado at about $2,500 which is a goddess to behold. If I win the lottery I will buy the Blaze20, but right now I think PK360 is the best value.

A:  At 360 square inches the PK360 is nearly 40% larger than the most popular Big Green Egg size, the 18-inch Large. Its unique capsule shape makes one-zone and two-zone cooking setups super easy - two-zone set-ups on a Kamado are clunky and difficult to maintain. PK Grills cast aluminum has proven to be the competitors choice in steak competitions across the U.S. The 2014, 2015 and 2016 SCA World Championship Steaks were all cooked on a PK Grill. Competitors love it, but it's still so easy to use that a beginner can make a great steak too. PK360s cast aluminum construction is more durable than porcelain Kamados which can be fragile. PK Grills are often lifetime purchases handed down from one generation to the next. Every new PK has the potential to become an heirloom grill. The PK360s combination of thick cast aluminum and 4-way venting provides users a with a very heat efficient cook chamber with easy 2-zone set-up and more control than single-vent Kamados. The PK360 comes standard with two giant, 230 square inch, removable Durabilium (tm) shelves with a unique Leading Edge wire system for hanging accessories, offering maximum function for prep and cooking. As with all PKs, the PK360 detaches from its stand easily so you can take it with you. Great for tailgating, camping, fishing/hunting cabins, etc. Try that with a heavy Kamado. The PK360 raises the design bar for the charcoal grill industry. The core; the cast aluminum grill capsule identifies this grill immediately as a PK. The addition of great design features, like the beautifully simple pedestal stand, the unique and user-friendly cylindrical air intake controls, elegant but tough as nails Durabilium shelves and thoughtful details like the accessory bar, lock/release hinges and rear stabilizer hooks will make it a high end object of desire.

A:  The grill capsule weighs 57lbs., & the pedestal weighs 13lbs, & the black durabilium shelves weighs 10lbs. Keep in mind the great thing about the grill, it is portable & you can easily set it up, take a part, & use the grill/smoker capsule without the stand...
