A:  Hi Katie, thank you for your question! We've designed POLYWOOD furniture to remain outdoors in all climates, but on hot days in direct sunlight, darker lumber colors readily absorb heat. On hot sunny days, we recommend testing furniture temperature with the back of your hand to make sure it's safe to sit on. We also suggest moving furniture to a shady area or covering it with a suitable outdoor furniture cover. Thanks, Lana

A:  Hello Caroline, Yes, our all-weather outdoor furniture is built to withstand all four seasons and a range of climates including hot sun, snowy winters, salt spray, and heavy winds. However, covering your furniture will make seasonal cleaning easier while also prolonging the life of your furniture. Before transforming HDPE into lumber, we blend UV inhibitors, pigments, and other protective compounds with the plastic. Not only does this fully saturate the lumber with rich hues, but it also ensures long-lasting color that stays bright and vibrant year after year. Thanks, Mindy

A:  Hello DaveVV, Thank you for reaching out about this. The Front horizontal bar on the seat's dimensions are 1 inch thick by 3 inches tall by 43 inches long and the backrest top board is 1 inch thick by 3 inches tall by 43.5 inches long. One thing to note is there is an aluminum pole that is in the middle of the bar across the backrest. We do recommend using an adhesive to mount a plaque instead of using hardware. A:  The seat is very comfortable. The back hits my back in an uncomfortable way. Pillow would help. I use the bench all the time.
