Q:Will this seed stay green all year long in Southern California?
    by|Jan 9, 2024
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Hello! Bermuda grass grows during temperatures of 75 degrees and above during the day and no lower than 60 at night. However, high temperatures above 90 can cause drought conditions in the soil and will make the grass go brown. While it is possible, the lawn would need to be watered regularly during high temperatures.

Q:1. What cultivar/variety is this? I prefer Sahara or Princess. 2. I'm in USDA Zone 8b. I'll be overseeding an existing lawn that has a mix of Bahia and Crentipede. Is Fall ok or should I wait until spring?
      by|Oct 27, 2023
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Hello, this product does not contain Princess; depending on your region/availability, it will most likely include Sahara. Please refer to the seed analysis tag on the bag for exact percentages and varieties. We also recommend waiting until late spring to seed because you want to plant a warm-season grass. We do not recommend your type of lawn with Bermuda due to the difference in growth speed and spreadability.

Q:I live in a residential area where the lawn is prelayed with bermuda grass, and underneath is a clay-like dirt. Can I mix bermuda grass seed with bluegrass? And what is the best time to overseed my lawn?
          by|Aug 26, 2023
          1 Answer
          Answer This Question

A:  Hello! No, we do not recommend overseeding a Bermuda lawn with bluegrass. Bermuda is a warm season grass that grows quickly and somewhat aggressively while bluegrass is a cool season grass that can awhile to establish. If you are needing to overseed a warm season lawn during the cooler months, we would recommend Ryegrass.

Q:How does this grass grow in California?
            by|Aug 24, 2023
            1 Answer
            Answer This Question

A:  Hello! This product contains cool season grasses like tall fescue. This type of grass seed should be planted in the spring or fall when the daytime temperatures are between 60-75 degrees and no lower than 50 degrees at night. Depending on where you live in California, this may not be in option due to the higher temperatures. Please give us a call at 1-800-285-7333 with additional information so we can better assist!

Q:As an Ohio State Seed, it grows reasonably well in the fall. But what do you do in November when it chokes out?
              by|Aug 17, 2023
              1 Answer
              Answer This Question

A:  Cool-season grasses for Ohio include fine and tall fescues (Festuca arundinacea), perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne), and the most popular Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis). Keeping these grasses trimmed, weed-free, and aerated allows them to spread lushly throughout the yard.
