A: There is not a wall entry kit for the Extra Large Freedom Aluminum Pet Door, Takoda. Many customers have successfully installed this pet door in walls by creating a custom frame, though. We hope this helps!

Q:Is a larger version of the Aluminum Pet Door available at Home Depot? I have an existing door opening from an older dog door that fell apart. My opening is not quite right for the opening of the Large. I need the Extra Large. Can Home Depot get the larger size? I also need it to be installed for me. Does Home Depot do installations of the dog door?

A: Worked great for a replacement of my large plastic doggy door that was broken.
by|Jan 16, 2019
A: Thanks for your question! As we have a few different sized pet doors that come pre-installed in storm doors, we are unfortunately unable to say for sure whether this would be a suitable replacement. We would recommend measuring the outside frame of the pet door insert and compare it to the frame dimensions of this door. If it is the correct size, the measurements will likely be very similar.

Q:Will this product work through a normal 4 inch wall?

Answer This Question
A: It is possible to install the Freedom® Pet Door into a wall but there may be a gap between the two frames. You will want to use materials from a local hardware store such as wooden planks or insulation to fill this gap avoid the pet stepping in the gap as well as preventing moisture from getting inside your walls. You may also need longer screws for this type of installation. If you have any questions about installation please give us a call at 1-800-732-2677.

A: It is not designed to work with a wall opening, but I think that the installation could be modified a little to accommodate a wall instead of a door. You would have to be a little creative to accomplish it.
