      Answer This Question

A:  It depends what hardiness zone you are in. You can keep in heated garage if in zone 4 or below. If you have a cool area that doesn't freeze keep in until safe to put out so leaves don't freeze or kill buds. If you keep in house put in coldest room water sparingly, as soon as danger of frost is gone, then plant outside with compost and a root hormone stimulator to get it going, then add fertilizer organic preferred the second watering.

A:  I'm not an expert but I would keep the plant inside where it can get some light and water it once in a while. Maybe once a week. Feel the soil. For a better answer call the store and ask them what you should do. Some Hydrangea can be ordered but they won't ship it until its time.

        by|Feb 2, 2022

A:  If the ground is thawed, you can go ahead and plant them. If not, just keep them in their nursery pots in an unheated garage or shed. Give them some water every week until they are planted and established if you don't get any precipitation.

A:  I cut branches down .  I wrapped with fleece cloth.  You can also at the base of plant place loose soil with woodchips.

A:  They will not thrive in an outdoor pot they need room for the roots to spread out. Have a few of these and they really need the root room.

A:  No , sorry. I live 60 min away. I ordered mine on line and they shipped from North Carolina. First shipment plants were great. Last shipment the hydrangea was very traumatize and might not make it. Heat and shipping time were to blame.

A:  I had the same situation. I removed the plastic around pot, put them in my garage, gave them water as needed and some light. Waited for outdoor conditions to improve. They did just fine. Are now happily in ground and thriving. In warmer weather- I would have left them outdoors in sun until ready to plant (after removing plastic around pots)

A:  I don't think you can keep this plant smaller than what it's supposed to be. I have 3 of them and they grow quite large even with pruning. Limelights naturally grow to about 8 ft tall. Even if you trim off 2 ft they grow right back to their original size before the end of summer. If you want a smaller size there is a dwarf version of this plant called "Little Lime." It grows to about 4 - 5 ft. If you need an even smaller one you could try a Bobo Hydrangea - it's very hardy and grows to about 3 ft and has panicle blooms like Limelight and Little Lime do - it actually has an insane amount of blooms.
