A:  i have only used mine on my shag rug.  It’s not real strong at the end, it’s a little flimsy.  

A:  No, the rake is not sturdy enough. When raking a shag rug, the rake can only be pulled towards you, cannot be pushed away from you.

A:  If you want! ... Just remember the teeth on this rake are plastic. I've used mine several times and maybe i'm a bit rough becuse half the teeth I started with are left. The teeth tend to be finer than the teeth on most mens combs, so if that helps, just know they will do their best to hold up, but they are just really thin.

A:  I think not, it would be pretty light for that rough of service. It would work for a short time however I do not think it would last very long raking turf.

A:  I wouldn't use it for anything but carpets it will we're down it's plastic.and it might even crack.

A:  The tines on this rake are very close together. I believe it is meant to pull up the yarn from the top and probably wouldn't do so well trying to dig in deeper. I have to say it does do a nice job on short to medium long pile/shag.

A:  I have extremely plush carpeting and have found this useful to even pull up carpet that furniture has been placed on for a very long time. My vacuum couldn't even do what this rake has. It's just a matter of getting use to first pushing the rake forward and then pulling it back.

A:  We weren’t told it had to be raked weekly! We had it steam cleaned after about 8 months and the cleaner told us it should have been raked weekly, then vacuumed. It definitely makes a difference, I wish we knew from the time of purchase!

A:  yes, it will do a great job on any deep pile carpet.

A:  The teeth are about an inch long. Since your carpet is 1 1/2 not sure if it will work. It may fluff the top layer of your carpet. But it is hard to say. The rake is like a brush, brushing your carpet. My carpet isn’t high. The rake only touches the surface but the more I work the carpet I’m able to go in 1/16 of the rake. Not sure I was helpful with your question.

The twisting is so tight that the fibers will begin to curl back upon themselves, making for a very dense texture. can revive crushed and matted carpet with a raking motion

A:  It screws together in 3 sections. Maybe only 2, I don't remember. If I were to do this again, I think I'd super glue the head at the seams BEFORE I ever used it. Maybe that would prevent it from flying apart.

A:  To assemble this handle insert 2 pieces together then hold the bottom piece and turn the top piece clockwise. The pieces will lock together. I applied duck tape to the joints because the sections keep coming apart.
