A:  Wireless only

by|Apr 18, 2023

A:  Wireless only. Has it’s own Wi-Fi module that’s inserted in box.

    by|Apr 18, 2023

A:  Only wireless and only on a 2.4GHz network.

      by|Apr 17, 2023

A:  This controller is not intended to be hardwired to your router/modem. Instead, we've designed the ARC8 Controller with built-in WiFi so that you're not restricted by wires or mount location. If you would like additional help in setting up or operating the product, please feel free to contact our technical support at 1-800-RAIN BIRD (800-724-6247) and we’d be more than happy to assist.

A:  The weather sensor never works. My system comes on in the middle of a three day rain storm. I read reviews on this problem before I purchased and the reviews are correct, it’s doesn’t work.

A:  Yes. When the controller is connected to WiFi, all of the controller settings can be accessed via the Rain Bird App. When in the App, under the "Edit Controller" tab there is an icon in the ribbon that looks like a rain sensor. There, you can toggle the Rain Sensor to "Bypass" or "Active." This simple toggle will save you from having to manually disconnect the rain sensor from the controller terminal block if you're not using/bypassing. Regardless of selection, all of the controller settings, including editing and/or activating schedules, can still be accessed and run. Should you have any additional questions, or for help setting up or operating the ST8-WiFi Controller, please feel free to contact our technical support at 1-800-RAIN BIRD (800-724-6247) and we'd be more than happy to assist.

A:  The ST8-WiFi Timer interface allows for visual confirmation of schedule as well as custom programming when a mobile device or WI-Fi isn't available so it remains operational. Additionally, two AAA batteries may be installed to retain the date and time in the event of a power outage, while programming is stored in non-volatile memory, and will remain in the timer even if batteries are not installed. Should you have any additional questions, or for help setting up and operating the ST8-WiFi Timer, please feel free to contact our technical support at 1-800-RAIN BIRD (800-724-6247) and we'd be more than happy to assist.

                                  Answer This Question

A:  This timer is set up to be able to water up to 6 different start times per day, but the times will water the same amount each time. One way you could accomplish what you are asking is to have a 6 AM, 6:10 AM, and 6 PM start time, and they would all water for 6 minutes. That way it would water for 12 minutes in the morning and 6 minutes at night. Don't worry if you schedule run times that overlap, they will just run one after the other. So if you had a start time at 6 AM and 6:10 AM, but had a run time of 11 minutes, it would just run form 6:00 - 6:22 AM. Hope that helps.

                                    Answer This Question

A:  yes it is Water Sense certified ,It will check the weather forecast by zip code, also allows for the install of a rain sensor. The rain sensor is a better option because it really looks at your property. I use the delay watering feature to push the schedule all the time when it rains. It also has seasonal adjust that will automatically adjust the sprinkler run time for the raining season. Super easy to use and works great. This timer is the best I've ever used at saving water.

A:  Normally the indoor ST8 is lower cost, but it appears the the price has recently increased. Cannot explain current retail pricing, but the outdoor version can be installed indoors or outdoors. Hope this helps!
