Answer This Question
A: Happy to help, Harry! Rust-Oleum Professional High Performance Enamel Spray Paint can be used on wood surfaces without the need for a primer. However, since wood is a more porous surface, additional coats of the paint may be needed if a primer is not used.

Q:Can this product be used on Galvanized metal where the zinc coring has been "rusted away" - once the rust is removed? and will this prevent further rust? It is for Raised garden beds that were used and then exposed to ammonium nitrate fertilizer

Answer This Question
A: Happy to help. Rust-Oleum Professional High Performance Protective Enamel Spray Paint cannot be applied to galvanized metal. Oil based paints are not compatible with the zinc in galvanized metal, it will not adhere properly and peel quickly from the surface. First prime the surface, after removing the rust, with Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Universal Bonding Primer, you can then top coat with Professional Spray Paint. This will prevent further rusting.

A: Hi Cathy! You should use Rust-Oleum High Heat spray paint. It's about six bucks (the same as other good spray paint) and can get over 1K deg without peeling.
by|Feb 8, 2023
A: Hi Cathy, thank you for reaching out! Unfortunately, we do not offer a coating that can be used for the top of a stove. Most specialized high heat paints are also not recommended for use on cooking surfaces, due to the proximity to flames, burners, and food items. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2

Q:Is this suitable for brake callipers?
by|Jan 5, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: We appreciate your interest! Due to the high heat brake calipers are exposed to, we do not recommend Rust-Oleum Professional High Performance Enamel Spray Paint for use on them. This type of environment will cause the coating to blister and peel. Instead, we recommend Rust-Oleum Automotive Caliper Spray Paint.
