Q:We removed our old utility sink and the counter top rough in hole is 23" left to right and 20" front to back. Will this sink fit this opening? Or do we need to recut the opening to drop in the sink? We looked at the spec sheet, and could not determine the Cut Out hole needed. Better directions and dimensions would help. What is the size of the rough cut out hole that we need to have in the counter top? Didn't want to buy, if not the right size.

Q:What drains will work with this sink? I purchased one based on the diameter of 3.5inches, but it is not long enough (deep enough) to go down through the drain opening and thread the lock nut. The one I bought is deep as it is, as it has a removable basket but the drain opening is tapered downward and the sink is thick.

A:  I had no problem with a standard 3.5" basket drain. You might have purchased one for a stainless sink.

A:  No. I have used the sink for dying fabric. which requires boiling hot water. Sink cleans up real well using soft scrub cleaner.

Q:Is this sink quiet? Does it stain easily? I wanted a stainless but the ones in my price range are out of stock.

A:  The shape of this sink is great. It looks great when you first put it in. If you are only going to use it for soaking laundry it will probably do you well. If you plan to actually use it as an utility sink, plan on being super diligent and disappointed if you want to keep it stainless. Unfortunately this sink will stain easily. I've had this sink for a few years and there are all sorts of stains in it I can't remove. It is impossible to keep it clean. When I first got it I was super diligent in cleaning the sink after using it. And then there were stains that I just couldn't get out no matter how fast I got to them. You shouldn't have to baby a utility sink. I wish we had gotten a stainless one.

A:  We have this sink. It is the only one we found that has the side shelf. As far as quiet - I'm not sure what you mean, it is probably quieter than stainless steel - even the nice ones that have sound-deadening pads. Stains - I would say "not easily" but we do have 2 small stains that won't come out. One is from a drop of dark purple paint that got on it while cleaning brushes and didn't get washed away. The dried paint came off but some of the pigment leached into the plastic. The other is a rust stain from leaving a wet drywall tape knife sitting on its edge in the sink over a weekend. I've tried several different "rust eraser" compounds on it and nothing will take it out completely. If it were possible to get a stainless sink in this exact design, I probably would have gotten it. But we really like this for a mop / utility sink in the laundry room.

A:  I have had this sink for 9 years. It is very quiet but It will stain over time. Most of the staining in mine is from cleaning paint brushes.

A:  I have enjoyed our sink as it is especially deep and looks good in our laundry room cabinet. It is quiet, but you have to remember it is set in a closed lower cabinet. Stains can be a problem but you have to clean them quickly and not let them set too long. I don't think they are worse than a stainless steel sink that is allowed to have stuff sit in it for long periods.

A:  I use this in my laundry room. I have not noticed any staining. It is quiet. It's nice and deep and I like the ledge on the inside for putting drippy things. Great sink for a utility room.

A:  I would not recommend this sink. The area around the drain hole in mine was lower than the hole and collected water; therefore, it did not drain as it should. Also the material ( which I have had before) seemed to hold debris rather than shed it as it should. I only use soap and water to clean it so there was no abrasion caused by cleaning.

A:  Yes it can, any sink, as long as it has at least a 1" flange, can be installed as an undermount. Make sure you support the flanges from underneath. The best method is make the hole in the sub top larger than the sink flange. Then use wood to block around the sink from below and shim to the desired height. This way if the sink ever gets damaged you can replace it without ruining the countertop. Do not forget to caulk the sink to countertop (just the space on the side of sink) with a silicone caulk.

A:  While the literature does not explicitly say you can't, there were no installation clips included for the purposes of doing an undermount option. Therefore, I would say no.
