Questions and Answers for Samsung 2.1 cu. ft. Over the Range PowerGrill Microwave with Sensor Cook in Fingerprint Resistant Black Stainless

A:  The SAMSUNG 30 IN. W 2.1 CU. FT. OVER THE RANGE POWERGRILL MICROWAVE has an electric stove type resistance rod heater element with exhaust fan exposed in the ceiling of the oven besides the microwave emitter located on the side wall. Does this oven have convection? My wife says it does convention and microwave type of cooking but I am inclined to say it has a broiler cooking element and microwave with a negative pressure exhaust fan to cook food. The word "convection" (a marketing word used these days for ovens) to me means moving heated/hot air , one of the three properties for heat transfer, which is "radiation, conduction, and convection."

A:  This large capacity, over-the-range microwave features our PowerGrill technology which uses direct heat to easily toast, brown, and crisp food. ^Lo

A:  Yes. Please note that the buttons are on the door which makes the door open out about 6 inches further than a unit that has a side button panel.

A:  I am not aware of a range hood for this microwave, or any microwave for that matter. The microwave is in fact a range hood when installed over a range. When installed you have to reconfigure the venting fan so that it vents out the back or the top. A simple venting kit will attach to the venting fan and the exhaust is carried out that way. I would add that the mutli speed fan is very strong and vents outside without a problem. If you are in a cold climate make sure you get a vent kit that will work well.
