Answer This Question

A:  they are plastic but go inside legs of patio furniture - they would not work on the student desks we used when I taught.

by|Aug 8, 2019

A:  This are plastic inserts for wrought iron patio furniture. I doubt that they will fit student desks.

A:  They are plastic, which deteriorate over time outside. Not sure if they'll work on student desks. I bought them to fit an old metal patio table and chairs. They are friction fit inside the patio/table legs. They were replacements for what was originally in the legs.

A:  Red 58, thank you for your question. These cups do not have anything on the bottom, they are plastic all the way around. These are made to insert into the foot of wrought iron furniture legs, they will not have any friction to stick around the legs of students desks.

A:  Depends on diameter of desk feet. These fit my 1 1/2 " patio table feet. And have been outdoors for 3 years. Still performing as expected.

          by|Aug 7, 2019

A:  They are one piece of hard plastic - meant only for wrought iron furniture - not for desks.

A:  My chairs and table are black, but the white inserts do not show. I do not believe black inserts are an option.

A:  I have only found this brand in white but they are the best for a hassle free install. For my black furniture, I've tried other brands that were black plastic but they don't work on old wrought iron furniture that does not bend. My only thought is to take a black permanent marker and color the white part of the cups that can be seen. I'm going to try that when the weather gets warmer.

A:  If the diameter of your chair "foot pads" are 1 1/2", you will need the 1 1/2" round insert cups. I have two outdoor tables and chairs and the 1 1/2" cups fit all the legs. Hope this helps.

A:  If your chairs measure 1 1/2” then these are the ones you need. Easy to install by using a hammer to tap them into place. Took about 40 minutes to install on 5 chairs and a table.

A:  These fit into a round hollow socket at foot of the chair leg. You should measure the inside diameter of that socket. It should be close to 1 1/4 “

A:  The ones I've installed have held up well. The furniture is not moved around much. If you slide furniture with these cups on the feet over concrete a lot, they will wear out.

A:  They hold up well, but it will ultimately depend on how rough the concrete surface is and how often the furniture is moved, because they will wear down over time.

I am a technician and spent at least 15 minutes trying to install one patio foot and nothing would allow the foot to fit into the 1.5” chair leg opening. I tried clamps, pliers, screwdrivers. Nothing worked. Then out of desperation I let the inserts sit in boiling water for about three or four minutes and they pushed right in! If too warm to the touch let them cool for a few seconds or use a towel to push them in. Hope this helps.
