Q:Is the glass tempered so that it will meet code for bathrooms?

A: Dear Kathryn,
Speaking from a GC myself. The bathroom codes are set for Government, Medical Facilities (hospital), Assisted Living, etc. It is not set as a standard for residential building. Even then its the preference of the Architect planning the job and relayed down to the project manager. The glass is not tempered, also tempered glass cannot be cut from a manufacturer's point, it needs to come from Glass manufacture like that (such as shower doors). We never had a problem with that in 17 years selling. Now we do sell an acrylic glass straight from us that we use for the facilities mentioned above if you are interested. I hope this helps.
