A: Bought this in Dec. 2020 used it several times . This is an electric snow thrower so there is no battery pack. There is a little assembly required but if you follow the instructions it is easy and simple to do. It is easy to operate. I am very happy with it.

A: I’m not a doctor I have never had a static shock from this blower. The key is to buy the right gauge extension cord based on the distance/length you need. This snow thrower is light and easy to maneuver. I even use it on my wood deck without any damage. I needed 100ft extension cord and there is a guide on line to tell you what length/gauge ratio you need to make sure you have enough power. Plus the cord needs to be ok in cold weather. In other words the extension cord may cost more than the snow blower.
A: Dear Bob, The Snow Joe Ultra 18 in. 13.5 Amp Electric Snow Blower can be used on a max of 10 inches high. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions please let us know. Thanks Customer Service Team Snow Joe + Sun Joe
A: 10- 12 inches would be "pushing it." It'll do 6-8 with no problem. :-) We gotta keep in mind that moving deeper snow will take more power. As long as the snow isn't iced, it will handle 10 but it will take a longer time. Since it's not self propelled, that's a lot of pushing out there on a cold day. Great question!
A: No. Works great and easy to maneuver. Leaves my wood deck unscathed.
A: I don't think this is the same machine I have. I think this is a heavy duty model. My model will not handle heavy wet snow. The blades on my machine have a rubber edging. If yours has that edging it should not scratch your deck.
A: Thanks for confirming that. That is great news.
A: Dear Bob, The Snow Joe Ultra 18 in. 13.5 Amp Electric Snow Blower can be used on a composite decking as the unit is built with a scrapper bar that does not allow the blade to touch the surface. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions please let us know. Thanks Customer Service Team Snow Joe + Sun Joe
A: JWL - Just curious. When I called into tech support they told me I wouldn’t scratch the deck as long as I tilted the unit back as I’m running it. They mentioned if I ran it level to the floor that it is possible that it could. I have composite (not stained decking) so this is a “non-wood” deck. My concern is I could hurt the finish of the composite decking. Maybe I’m overthinking it. I still want to get this so I can snow blow other paths where don’t use my regular gas snow blower. Thanks for any suggestions and I would be curious to get other opinions on this. I’m hopeful someone that has composite decking can comment. Thanks so much.
A: No, the blades aren’t long enough to touch the deck surface or sidewalk, etc.
A: No. I've used mine on regular stained decking for 3 years without issues.
A: It would be 14-3 for your unit.

A: It (the SJ620) weighs 31.5 lbs. The SJ621 with light weighs 32.9 lbs.
A: About 25 pounds
A: you need a 12 gage cord. FYI, I wouldn't expect to get much more then a year out of this machine. I've had to burn out on me. They perform really well while they last.
A: 16-3 good for 50 feet and 14 or 12 gauge for 100 feet to handle voltage drop- no matter what amp model you buy.
A: Dear Pete, The recommended extension cord to be used with the either of the snow blower models are a 50ft 14 gauge of 100ft 12 gauge.
A: I use a 16 gauge extension cord. A 14 gauge is better for the performance but a little more expensive.
A: I used what I'm going to call a regular gauge extension cord. Something you may use for power tools. Its really not that heav duty in my book. I don't know the specific gauge. It worked fine with the snowblower.
