Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your question. Thuricide BT Caterpillar Control controls all caterpillars, including leaf rollers, and can be applied on all plants.
It must be digested for it to work. Apply thoroughly to the surfaces of the leaf, not to the caterpillar.
Thuricide BT should not be applied near water sources or fish.

A: Leaf rollers can by controlled by BT and the younger the leaf roller when this is applied the better the results. If you have curled up leaves, then cut these leaves off and dispose of them in soapy water. Generally, leaf rollers are easily controlled. If you have an infestation of the leaf rollers, then this will be effective. This product is certified as okay for organic gardening as (Bt) is a natural occurring, soil-borne bacteria that has been used since the 1950s for natural insect control. It consists of a spore, which gives it persistence, and a protein crystal within the spore, which is toxic. That toxic protein differs, depending on the subspecies of Bt producing it, yielding a variance of Bt toxic to different insect species. The BT is toxic to insects and Bt is harmless to birds, fish and mammals, so it is safe to use around your KOI Pond. I highly recommend this product and I used it once on my tomato plants and it was very effective.

Q:Will it kill webworms?

Answer This Question
A: I have used this product several times to treat tree and ornamental bagworms. The key is to apply preventatively when the insects are expected to appear or as soon thereafter. I always work to wet the leaves and underside as well as try to penetrate the bag/s as much as possible when they are present. Repeat in a couple of weeks due to breakdown/wash-away. At least this works for me.

A: Thank you for your question. Thuricide will control webworms. Apply to the leaf surface of the plant the worms are eating. The worms will stop eating almost immediately after ingestion, though it may take a day before they actually die.

A: Thank you for your question. It is always best to treat the specific areas where infestations occur. Using a combination would prevent making two separate applications, but Thuricide must be consumed. Once the worm digests Thuricide, they stop eating within hours and this prevents further damage to the plan. The worm will die of starvation within a few days. On the other hand, Bifenthrin is a contact killer, it may disrupt the feeding cycle of the army worms, making it less effective.
