      Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. Though oakworm isn't specifically listed on the label, Thuricide BT Caterpillar control is effective on most caterpillars and worms. The University of California specifically lists Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies kurstaki, which is the active ingredient in our Thuricide BT, as a good microbial control for oakworms.

A:  Thank you for your question. Thuricide will control webworms. Apply to the leaf surface of the plant the worms are eating. The worms will stop eating almost immediately after ingestion, though it may take a day before they actually die.

A:  Thank you for your question. Thuricide is not a contact killer, it must be consumed. It controls caterpillars and worms, it does not control hard body insects. As always, read and follow directions carefully.

Q:Will this product kill squash vine borers?
            by|Jun 18, 2023

            Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. Thuricide Bt does not list squash vine borer on the label. It primarily controls worms and caterpillars. The excerpt below does suggest Bt may give some control. A method in use to control squash vine borer is syringe injection of the bacterial insecticide Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis) into each vine by hand. In home gardens or small market gardens, growers often try to control squash bugs by hand picking or placing wooden boards near the plants, where squash bugs will congregate for hand collection and disposal. For squash vine borer, small growers are advised to slit each vine showing frass (the insect excrement) and extract the larva before the vine is irreparably damaged. information was published by: Katherine L.
