A: They might, since they are clay. I live in the midwest, so I take these in, in the winter months and bring them back out the next spring, when the chance of freezing temperatures is done.

A: Since terra cotta pots absorb water, they can be expected to break if the outdoor temperature goes below freezing. Last year part of the outer layer of finish on one of mine flaked off presumably from regularly watering and this occurred during warm weather.
