Q:1) What are the dimensions of the louver inside the plastic frame? Mine is 5.0" x 1 3/8". I would like to just replace the louvers on my old dryer vent.
2) What is the dimension between mounting holes in case I need to replace the whole vent assembly.
Thanks for your help.

Q:Is this a standard vent exhaust for all dryers

Answer This Question
A: It will work with all dryers if the vent size is the same. This is for a 4 in vent, which most dryers have. If yours has a larger or smaller vent, you should get the size that matches to avoid problems.

Q:Is it designed to keep insects and other crawling things out. does it open only to vented pressure, when the dryer is on?

Answer This Question
A: Not from my experience. The louvers get gummed up easily from moisture and dust and stop closing all the way. New, they work great. After a few months, not so great.

A: no mesh screen, although we bout some chicken wire and placed it in there since these were installed as exhaust vents for our bathrooms by the builder. This is not ideal for a bathroom vent on the second floor since the plastic pieces can come off easily.
