Q:Can I use the PK15GTA grounding bar with this product?

A:  I used a PK9GTACP grounding bar for this box. It looks like the PK15GTA but is shorter with fewer connections. There is plenty of space around it, so it seems like thenPK15GTA should work. See below the breakers in the picture of my installation.

A:  The panel specs will tell you what bars they recommend . Use the Square D bars, they fit better. The worst that will happen if using a larger bar then recommended is it will not fit the mounting holes and you have to drill one hole for the mounting screw. I usually drill the hole in the bar and use the original holes in the panel.

A:  The Main Lugs of this load center are positioned at the top of the load center. The interior cannot be rotated to position the Main Lugs at the bottom of the load center. However, there is adequate gutter space to feed the incoming conductors into the bottom endwall of the enclosure, routing them through the side gutter for terminating into the Main Lugs located at the top of the load center. Q:Will the Model # PK23GTACP ground bar work with this panel? I need more places for grounds than the 7 on the bar it calls for? This model ground bar has 23 terminals. There is also a Model # PK15GTACP available which is 15 terminals. That would work for me also if it will fit this box.

                Answer This Question

A:  You should not need a ground bar that big in this panel, you have 8 circuits, when it says 16 circuit you would have to use the piggy back breakers. The 15 space gnd, should fit. Sounds like you need a bigger panel all together.

Q:My application requires that I do not bond neutral to ground, which means I need to install a separate bus bar for ground. Is there a specific one I should be using?

                    Answer This Question

A:  I used PK9GTACP but there are longer bars like PK12GTACP and PK23GTACP which have more connections. Some bars do not have the "CP" at the end of the identifier.

                    by|May 5, 2023

A:  it is a ground bar that bolts directly to panel case. NOTHING specific a ground bar is just that a ground bar. You get one that is adequate for the panel size.

A:  Hello Don, If you are using the QO816L100DS as a sub panel which is very common, then YES the grounds and branch neutrals must remain separated and they would need a separate ground bar to field install in the panel. For this panel the ground is a PK7GTA. Regards, Customer Care Center

A:  Ground and Neutral are not bonded when the panel is new-in-box. You have to bond them with the screw. If you don't, they're already separate.

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. The QO816L100DS load center does not come bonded. We ship the green bonding screw separate that you would install if required.
