A:  Solid brass parts can tarnish over time, but ours are not solid brass and should not tarnish.

A:  Hello, the base of this knob is 1-1/4 inch, so unfortunately it would not fit over a 1-1/2 inch circle.

A:  I am doing just that but I needed longer screws so the helpful chat person found me #8-32 machine screws (1 3/4 inch) that work great
