Q:Is a Crossbeam needed to brace the sides? Making an actual A frame Thanks,

Answer This Question

A:  Yes, we do recommend having a crossbeam as the A frame is meant to be an additional support to the existing structure. Thanks for the question!

by|May 9, 2022

A:  I used cross beams to make my a-frames. These brackets are to attach the a-frame to top  beam between a-frames

Q:When the horizontal beam is 8 feet off the ground, what length will the down beams need to reach the ground?

      Answer This Question

      A:  4x4 x 8' long. Then a 4x6 on top for a swing beam.

      by|Apr 3, 2020

A:  That depends on the playset design. The Swing - n - slide Pioneer doesn't have the horizontal beam at 8'. The 4x4 beam legs are @ 8' length. If you're designing a different playset then I would still use this dimension. See attached.

Q:What is the resulting angle between the legs of the swing frame when using this bracket? It looks like more than 45-degrees, but it's hard to tell from the included images and it wasn't noted in the assembly guide. Thank you.

A:  I'm not sure on the exact angle between the legs, but if you follow the measurements in the instructions it will come out great. My Pioneer set has been standing for 5+ years.

A:  Yes. In fact, that would be ideal if the playset is outside.

A:  Jeff, I'd love to be able to help you out more but I used my A frame brackets to make a balance beam for my daughter. The legs are only about 40 inches. I do know that I'm about 205 and I can walk on the beam and it feels very stable. Hope this helps at least a little. Brian

                            by|May 5, 2023

A:  The 115lbs is generally related to the swing and its hangers. There are heavy duty swings and hangers that support more.

                              by|Apr 5, 2020

A:  It depends more on what your beam is than these brackets. The brackets hold the A-Frame end at the right angle. It will still need a cross brace closer to the ground, and possibly sink the posts into the ground. If you do that, you should be fine with more weight.

                                by|May 5, 2023

A:  EZ Frame Brackets will support heavy duty swing hangers and swings which have a 250 LB weight limit each. The brackets are design to support a 4x4 or 4x6 swing beam and 4x4 legs.

A:  EZ Frame Brackets will support the A-frame legs to the swing beam. Weight limit will be more on the lumber.

                                    by|May 5, 2023

A:  Please follow the manufacturers instructions. Your number of brackets is correct, but the cross beam support for the assembly needs to be a 2x6.

                                      by|Apr 5, 2020

A:  If 4 x4's are used for the A frame the joint is very strong and can carry a lot of weight.because the top beam sits in the V formed by the two touching 4 x 4's. The amount of weight carried therefore depends on the size of the top beam ( 4x4 , 4x6 or 4x8) and the distance between the two A frames. The 2x4's you mentioned are used to keep the 4x4 leg triangle from spreading apart.

A:  No, this should be only 1 bracket per side, a total of 2 brackets for a complete swingset.

A:  You will need 2 brackets on each side of the swing set and therefore will need 4 total to complete swing set, one inner and outer bracket per side.

A:  You will want 4 brackets for a complete swing set that is an A frame on each side. For my swing set design a beam came off of the "fort" so I only had one "A" and only needed 2 brackets, that is why it is not sold in 4 packs.

A:  I initially built the set with just one brace on either side of the set. I was not happy with the stability. I bought a second set and installed them, there are now two braces on either side and there is very little movement if any in the lateral movement of then set. Does it require two braces on either side, not sure, but I think it need two braces on either side. Then again I'm the type that tends to over build or over strengthen a project like this.
