A:  Return to the nearest store or call customer service. I think you would need to drain the fuel.

Q:where is the oil drain located
      by|Oct 7, 2016

      Answer This Question

A:  To drain the oil, tip the mower onto its side, with the dipstick down, until the upper handle rests on the ground. Please view the "Changing the Engine Oil" section of the Operator's Manual online at http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/97/97789d82-14e9-4987-9fb3-5f5e4b1f2841.pdf.

      by|May 4, 2023

A:  This doesn't have an oil drain, you turn it on its side.

A:  Most likely the cable stretched between the handle and the drive. There is a convenient knob adjustment for this on the newer models and a wrench adjustment on older ones. There are a couple of You Tube videos showing the process of adjusting the cable casing so as to shorten the cable. Hope this helps.

Q:The mower keeps shutting off when it gets hot. Anyone else having this issue. Should I be concerned

          Answer This Question

A:  Yes, take it for repair. I have had nothing but issues with mine and have used all different mowers since a teen, never had a lemon like this. Good Luck! I hired a guy to cut my lawn, less then the repairs on this.

          by|May 3, 2023

A:  Mine doesn't shut off. Twice a year the motor locks up and it leaks oil and gas. I let it sit for a few days and change the oil, add more gas then the mower starts up again. If it still under 30 days from purchase take it back and get the commercial version or a smaller mower.

          by|May 3, 2023

A:  well, as long as it restarts and mows as usual, I wouldn't be too concerned about it. This lawn mower has a lot of ongoing continuing issues, plus some new ones that pop up from time to time. eventually you will have to get this repaired. My off button continues to get stuck and often won't crank. Make sure that you're not accidentally hitting the button or leaving it stuck in the off position. often lawnmowers cut off on their own it's because fuel is not getting through the system correctly.

          by|May 3, 2023

A:  NO but in my case coincidentally when it stalled hot the fuel level was low so it was probably sucking air due to sloshing. I would want there to be a thermostat to allow cool down before heat damage.

Q:Exhaust, fumes, dust when using - how would you rate the amount?

            Answer This Question

A:  I would say that this mower is typical to most gas push mowers even though the mower itself is slightly wider. I would recommend wearing a mask while mowing as well as checking the pollen count for the day. If your grass wasn't that tall I would also suggest you mulch your clippings back onto the yard verses bagging. This might help cut down on the dust the mower creates or has to be dealt with when emptying the bag.

            by|May 3, 2023

A:  Only your doctor should give you advice concerning your health, but I have not experienced any unusual exhaust emissions from my mower. With your condition you should wear some type respirator when mowing, also hearing protection.

            by|May 3, 2023

A:  This is a gasoline lawn mower with a 50% wider cut than an average push mower. Otherwise, the same process. I would expect to see about 50% more dust than with a 20" mower since you are covering 50% more ground with each pass. Also, if you are bagging a lot of air passes through the bag and comes back toward the operator. I can say that if I run it over bare dirt a considerable amount of dust comes right through. The engine is the same as used on a smaller mower so exhaust fumes would be comparable. Since you would be breathing harder than when sitting on the ride on mower, I would say this is probably not your best choice.

A:  It will be about the same. The blade turning at that high of a speed creates air and dust movement.

            by|May 3, 2023

A:  I have not noticed any excess fumes from this mower. Of course proper maintenance will keep it running clean.

Q:Is this offer from Home Depot for a reconditioned mower?

              Answer This Question

A:  Dont buy this mower. The warranty is not worth the paper its written on. Buy a smaller Toro lawn mower. New or used, this mower is JUNK.

              by|May 3, 2023

A:  Dear RA, If the price is $900 plus it's a new one. comes with a 3 year warranty.

              by|May 3, 2023

A:  No, this mower is not reconditioned.

              by|May 3, 2023

A:  This is not a reconditioned mower. Reconditioned is a separate column to the right of Features. The Reconditioned column has a value of "No" listed.

A:  I don't think so. They are selling it at the msrp so it should be brand spanking new.
