A:  Hello kmcintosh - thank you for your inquiry. Vinyl flooring is manufactured with run numbers / date codes printed on the cartons. It is recommended to verify that all of the date codes / run numbers are from the same batch when installing. If cartons were purchased on one date, and additional cartons were purchased at a later date, it is very possible that the runs won't match. This shouldn't be significant but if installed all together, it could be noticeable. (This applies to most flooring products.) If not all of the flooring has been installed, and you still have some of the older cartons, you may be able to go to your local Home Depot location to see if the same lot can be located. We apologize for this inconvenience. Thank You -

Q:Can I get one plank of this?

A:  Hello and thanks for your question. Unfortunately, the TrafficMaster Peel and Stick Vinyl Plank are sold by the carton quantity only and not individually. However, you can purchase the carton and take it home to see if the color/pattern will work in your home. If the product does not work for you, it can always be returned to the store for full refund (provided that the product hasn't been altered, cut, or the backing peeled off). Hopefully, this helps. Thanks again for your interest in the TrafficMaster Peel and Stick Vinyl Plank.

Q:Do you have to take the baseboards off before installing?

A:  We did then caulked around the tile for extra seal, used in bathroom and kitchen where there's always plenty of water.

A:  Hello Kaylo - thank you for your inquiry. Installation can be done either way. If you leave them on, you can install the vinyl planks right up to the baseboards and install a quarter round molding on top for a clean finished look. Or you can remove them, install the vinyl planks closer to the walls, then install the new baseboard molding on top of the planks. I would suggest looking at images of both types of installation methods to see which one you would prefer and like. Thanks -

A:  No we did not do that and our kitchen floor is beautiful!

          by|Feb 19, 2022

A:  You might. I didn't have to because I was installing plank where carpet had previously been. The planks slid nicely under the baseboards.

A:  I believe it will. Be sure the floor is clean and dry and do the work on a warm day.

                A:  Yes, it sticks perfectly.

A:  Hey! Yes, it will easily stick to the top of an already existing vinyl flooring. I put down my TrafficMaster flooring a little over a year already right on top of existing vinyl flooring and it still looks great. Does not lift nor slide or anything of the sort. Looks exactly how when I put it down. I also did not pretreat the floors other then a really deep cleaning. Hope this helps!

Q:I installed this flooring and it is not sticking to the subfloor (plywood sheet). Also it seems that the planks have shrunk. Is this covered under the warranty?

A:  Hello Shasta - thank you for your inquiry. I've copied and pasted in some of the installation guide process - the floor preparation part. GENERAL PREPARATION  Acclimate the tiles to room temperature (65° - 85°F) in the area to be installed for 48 hours prior to installation.  Undercut door jambs and moldings 1/8” from subfloor. Check clearances of doors and undercut if necessary.  Remover all quarter-round and if desired, removes all baseboards.  Remove nails, screws or any foreign materials that will prevent pieces and tiles from lying flat.  Scrape subfloor to remove paint, plaster or other debris that will prevent adhesion of flooring. Some substances may require mechanical grinding for removal.  Subfloor must be level to ¼” within each 10 feet radius. Fill low areas with cementitious based latex patching compound (not included). Grind, chip or sand down any high areas in the flooring.  Sweep and thoroughly vacuum subfloor.  Prime subfloor with latex based flooring primer (not included). Primer must be of type specifically designed for use with self-adhesive (self-stick) vinyl flooring. Follow manufacturer’s directions for proper application and mixing of flooring primer.  IMPORTANT: Inspect all pieces for visible blemishes or defects and remove them from the installation. Installation of a defected piece will be regarded as acceptance of its condition regardless of the defect and will void the product warranty.  Pieces can be cut with a square and razor knife by scoring the top surface of the piece and snapping the pieces apart. It is not necessary to cut all the way through the piece. For intricate cuts around door jambs or moldings, heat the piece slightly with a hair dryer to allow the piece to be fully cut with the razor knife.  Cartons should be mixed on the jobsite and pieces installed from multiple cartons at the same time.  Ensure cartons are obtained from the same lot / run number to avoid differences in pattern or shading which may occur. Vinyl tiles / planks do expand and contract with temperature changes. If the underlayment plywood was properly prepared and primed, and you went over the vinyl tiles with a roller to ensure they were bonded to the plywood, there shouldn't have been issues with sticking and or shrinking of the tiles. If you feel as if you need to file a claim, please see the Home Depot retail location in which you made your purchase. Thank You -

A:  Hello Linda - thank you for your inquiry. It appears that this item is available only in select stores and / or limited quantities. Your best option to try and locate would be to visit your local Home Depot, speak with a Flooring sales associate and they can help locate any available inventory local to your store if possible. Answer This Question

A:  Hello and thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, the TrafficMaster Peel and Stick should never be installed where temperatures regularly fall below 55°F or rise over 85°F. This would include outdoor locations including solariums, porches, sun rooms and/or garages. Installation in these locations will definitely void the manufacturer's warranty. We recommend reviewing the Installation and Warranty Guides prior to installation. These can be found in each carton, or on the product page of the Home Depot website. Thanks again.
