Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your inquiry. The Durock Shower System has a pre sloped tray. The curbs are cut square and are placed around the perimeter of the tray. Generally the curbs are not sloped nor do we have recommendations for cutting them. Hope this helps.

Q:Can you put Redgard waterproofing over the curb before setting tile?
by|Sep 8, 2015
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hello Tricia, thank you for your question regarding our Durock Shower System Curb. There is no need for the Redgard Waterproofing Product over the curb. When the Shower Kit is installed per our instructions you have a completely waterproof system with no need for any other Products. If you decide to move forward with the Redgard Product, we recommend checking with that Manufacturer for the compatibility of their Product with our Durock Waterproof Membrane.

Q:I have an existing tiled shower base drain in place. I took out the previous curb and i'm replacing it. Will the Durarock shower system curb work as a replacement curb to an existing shower stall? Also I want to attach granite sheets to finish off the top and sides. Will the granite adhesives bond to this shower system curb material? What adhesive would you recommend?
Thanks

Answer This Question
A: Hello, thank you for your question regarding our Durock Shower System Curb. It's possible that you can use the Curb as a replacement for your existing shower stall. It will depend on the material that it is being installed on. The components of the Durock Shower System are designed to be used using an Unmodified Thin Set Mortar. If what you would be installing the Curb on requires the use of a Modified Thin Set Mortar then it would not be advisable to use the Curb here. Granite can be installed on the Curb, just be sure to use an Unmodified This Set Mortar when installing the Granite.
