Q:I have a one piece tub and wall surround unit (not sure if that is what it is called). Will this install on that or does it have to be on a flat wall/tile?
by|Mar 23, 2014

Answer This Question

A:  This unit could work on a tub surround, as long as there was a hole cut out for the valves to connect into the back of the shower panel. There would also have to be proper supports behind the tub surround, to support the shower panel.

Q:can you use the shower head and jets at the same time? Same with the hand held and body jets?

    Answer This Question

A:  Yes. Just for fun, I turned on the shower and ALL the jets at the same time after we installed. Obviously, the pressure decreased when I did that, but they all worked.

A:  Yes, this model has separate knobs for each of the functions. Therefore you can use more than one, or even all functions at the same time.

Q:Does the overhead shower have enough force to rinse shampoo out of head of hair or is it more of a gravity "rain" shower?

        Answer This Question

A:  Shower water pressure was fine; you can adjust the pressure of the flow, and it should be plenty to rinse shampoo out of your hair. You can't adjust the TYPE of flow or the number of jets that shoot out water, though.

Q:I'm concerned about a fixed shower head not being exactly at an angle preferable to me. Can it be adjusted??

          Answer This Question

A:  No. You can adjust the strength of the water FLOW, which will change the angle, but you can't otherwise adjust the water angle.

A:  Only the amount of water you have coming out is adjustable (from the knob on the shower panel). The shower head is not adjustable in any way.

A:  Hi Smk2u71, the shower head is fixed. However the hand shower and top shower head can be on at the same time. Also all the shower jets on the panel are adjustable, 30 degrees in all directions.

Q:My concerns are (1) that the hose for the hand-held shower wand will be lying on the floor of the shower when we aren't using it if it's not installed high enough; (2) if we install the unit more than 10-12" off the bottom of the shower floor, then the jets will not hit our shoulders, lower back areas (we are short people; 4'11-5'8) and (3) we have 8' ceilings, so going any higher than 15-16" off the bottom will put the shower head far to high (at 20" it would put the shower head at 87.75"). Any suggestions?

A:  It's a BIG unit - something like 70" high - about 6 feet. Our bathroom ceiling is about 7 feet; we installed it at about 10-1/2" off the floor, which gave us a couple of inches ceiling clearance. We initially tried installing it higher, but simply couldn't get the water fittings lined up with the hoses properly when we did that. The hand-held shower wand has a mount on the panel, but the hose does drag on the floor. I think that's unavoidable unless you mount the thing REALLY high. FWIW, mounting at 10-1/2" off the floor puts the shower head high enough for anyone who doesn't play professional basketball. I really can't see wanting to mount it higher.

A:  We typically do not give out this requested measurement, as we leave it up to the end user as to where they would like the placement of the jets and the hand shower. However, with the information you have provided me, I would suggest going some where between 15" and 20" off the ground. This will provide enough room at the bottom of the unit so that the hose is not totally laying on the floor. This will also work with your 8' high ceilings. In terms of the jets not hitting your shoulders and lower back, there are six jets that cover a good portion of this shower panel. Therefore, I do not see that being much of an issue, as even if the top jet is to high, the jets below would reach the shoulders and back.

A:  I just held it up to see how or where I wanted it to sit, so its up to you I think, I won't tell anybody if you put it higher or lower, lol

A:  the shower rain head is about 18" out if you install it on a flat surface, i installed mine in the corner of two walls. if you go to the dimensions page in the installation guide it will show all the dimensions of the shower unit. i believe this is a pdf file you can download on the home depot site.

Q:6.5 inches thick takes away from my shower bench can this unit be set back in wall

A:  if the wall you intend to place your shower tower is a 4" stud wall, there is no reason why you couldnt recess the tower back into the wall. you would need to use backer board and tile it as a recess in which the tower could set back into. you would also have to allow for the hot and cold pipes to be recessed also. As the tower slips onto the pre-installed stainless brackets it should be an easy install. obviously the 2x4 studs, backer board and tiling would take some time, but would enhance the shower immensely. Hope this helps with your question....

A:  It is possible to set this unit back in the wall, however it is meant to be installed on the wall not in it. This will also make it difficult if down the road you ever need to replace a part in the back of the unit.

A:  Absolutely. This is an all inclusive deal, all your plumber will have to do is put in the right valves for your water supply. It actually has an anti scald manifold. You can set the desired temperature by looking at the adjuster knob (80, 90, 100, 108....etc. It has a safety feature built in to the temp handle if you want to go hotter than 100 deg F.
